dina's flow

as a child i was fascinated by the green goddess, sitting up close to the tv, mesmerized by the fluidity of her movement and the grace with which she hoisted her green legs skywards. it was only a question of time before i began exploring the possibilites of yoga for myself. years later, lost in a fog of existential angst After a transformative bout of travelling in India, i found that yoga soothed my frazzled nerves and offered respite from the trials of daily life.

Gradually moving away from an accidental career in music journalism and PR (and too many late nights), i completed a dynamic yoga teacher training  programme in ibiza with Godfrey Devereux in 2000, more as an exercise in damage limitation than as a pre-meditated career move. i never made the decision to begin teaching, teaching seemed to have chosen me.

I continued my studies through the british wheel of yoga diploma and Yoga Alliance accreditation at the advanced 500 hr level. I have studied yin yoga with Sarah Powers and paul grilley in California, retreated with yogini/author Donna Farhi in new zealand, delved deeper into Ashtanga with John Scott in Cornwall, enjoyed sequencing vinyasa flow to music with Shiva Rea, floated on blankets and bolsters in restorative paradise with judith lasater and spent many weeks with Clive Sheridan exploring the mind blowing (literally) practice of pranayama. My meditation practice is inspired by the Buddhist principles of mindfulness.

i AM A MENTOR ON THE YOGA CAMPUS TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAMME AND ALSO IN TRAINING MYSELF TO BECOME A PSYCHOTHERAPIST.

I find teaching one of the greatest arenas for my learning, whether working with dancers at the royal opera house, stressed executives at their workplace, the rich diversity of londoners that attend my classes, or festival goers that find me plying my trade in a field surrounded by revellers and heavy beats. i am committed to continuing my training with some of the leading teachers in the world, especially when it gives me an excuse to indulge my wanderlust.
